The Sorrento Peninsula and the Amalfi Coast - so many routes to choose from.

Yesterday I had to go to Maiori which is at the other end of the Amalfi Coast from where I live. As I was driving along this spectacular coastal road, trying not to get distracted by the views that never fail to amaze me, I passed an incredible number of hikers, some in large groups, others walking alone or in twos and threes.
May, June, September and October are the best months for walking in this area, when the high season madness has yet to come or has simmered down and the weather and the temperatures are generally  pleasant. However even at this time of year I have never seen so many people carrying rucksacks and clutching maps, out and about mid week, and this in fairly dodgy weather.
Over the past few years there has definitely been a significant increase in the number of walkers coming to our neck of the woods and this, as we all know, can only be a good thing for the local economy.
We have a wealth of trails, some well marked, some less so, some famous, others not so well known, some tough, others easy. There is something for just about everyone and if you are not confident about going it alone, luckily there are enough people passionate about this area, both professional and non-, (there are various local walking groups that venture forth at weekends who you can join), to make your walking holiday one that is memorable for all the right reasons: the views, the flowers, the fruit picked and eaten along the way, and so I could go on.
A selection of my favourite itineraries can be found on my website:

You just have to choose.
